Congratulations to Somerville High School Social Studies teacher Beatriz Thomas on being named a 2026 MA Teacher of the Year Finalist. She is being recognized for "making a positive impact on student learning and well-being; using student-centered, innovative approaches to teaching and learning; and demonstrating leadership within and beyond the classroom." This process has gone from nomination, to a video entry of her philosophy and classroom instruction and most recently a classroom visit from DESE. We will find out the winners in the fall of 2025 so stay tuned! (fb)
