PENNSYLVANIA MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC ASSOCIATION IS A TRADE ASSOCIATION REPRESENTING THE THIRTY-FIVE MUNICIPAL POWER SYSTEMS OF PENNSYLVANIA. ONE THIRD OF OUR EFFORTS ARE ON REGULATORY ISSUES, ONE THIRD ON MONITORING LEGISLATION AND ONE THIRD ON TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE FOR OUR MEMBERS. WE HAVE FEW PROJECTS OF FINANCIAL MEASURE, MOST RESOURCES ARE DEDICATED TO COMMUNICATION. OUR MAIN ACTIVITY IS OUR ANNUAL MEETING.

We believe that there are three key elements to being a successful public power system local control reliability and positive community impact. Residents of boroughs served by public power systems are able to exercise far more control over their electric service provider than those served by large utilities and they know that in the event of outages the response will be timely since it will be coordinated locally. Most importantly we believe in being responsible members of the communities we serve.
