GIRLZ BY DESIGN EMPOWERING A NEW ERA OF DESIGNERS Our Mission We empower motivate and educate young creatives in high schools across the DMV region by preparing them to succeed in the new digital era. Students listen to GBD speaker Dahlia Nduom Architect Professor at Howard University What We Do Resources We provide students and teachers with materials to discover free open source design platforms design literature local events internship and job postings and various community opportunities. Workshops Through discussions and projectbased learning students learn to identify and develop an understanding of the various aspects of design thinking. Our workshops ask students to practice problem solving to meet community identified needs with design.
