It’s Tie-Day Friday! This week, our Maintenance of Way (MOW) crews have been hard at work on night shifts this week to replace worn-out railroad ties along our right of way, to provide a structurally integral track for years to come.Railroad ties are the wooden timbers that sit beneath the rails. They provide a flexible support for the rail, while also holding the track in the proper gauge with the use of railroad spikes.As these components wear over years, they must be replaced - our crews replaced over 100 ties this week, with plenty more to come. Maintenance on this railroad is a year-round affair.Come and appreciate their hard work by taking a ride with us over that same track! The Willow express is on track to depart the Parrish station at 11am and 2pm this Saturday & Sunday.
