EOBA is a non-profit, community-based organization that has been providing education, enrichment, and health programs for children and youth since 1987. East Oakland Boxing Association (EOBA) is dedicated to empowering youth and fostering community engagement through sports and education. For over 37 years, EOBA has provided health, wellness, youth development, and enrichment activities free of charge to individuals aged 5 to 18. Our impact extends beyond physical training; we emphasize academic support, mentorship, and community engagement, creating a comprehensive support system that addresses the diverse needs of our participants. By focusing on building character and resilience through the principles of boxing, we empower youth to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.

We create space for youth to practice hone and internalize the tools and attitudes needed to be exemplars of wellbeing for their peers families and communities. Serving all Oakland youth from ages 520 Our programs are divided into two age ranges Youth aged 513 who are eligible to enroll in the EOBAafter school program. Youth aged 1420 who are eligible to enroll in ourInternshipMentoring and Boxing programs.
