Amaya’s Bookreads is a Youth Empowerment Literacy Program that is committed to empower, engage, and engrain the value of literacy and wellbeing for families in underprivileged areas. We engage our youth in literacy and wellbeing by providing stimulating group bookreads, book lending, tutoring and mentoring. We provide workshops that promote healthy eating and living, by using horticulture theme based books and hands on activities, such as growing food in the city. Our goal is to create a place where all children have the most educational resources available to them for a higher chance of success, no matter what community they are from. We support this mission through our dedication to raising lifelong readers, leaders, and cultivators in families that face adversity.
