YPTWAlumni.org Our Mission 1 Preserve the history of the Young Peoples Theater Workshop 2 Celebrate the artistic endeavors of YPTW Alumni and 3 Support the arts community by sharing YPTW Alumni experience skills and volunteerism. Preserve Celebrate Support Our History In the fall of 1978 with 38 students Bob Moore and Donna Peck founded the Young People39s Theatre Workshop in Swarthmore PA. The original intentions of the founders were to provide education in all areas of theatre including acting and backstage techniques and to provide students with an opportunity to use this knowledge in a fullscale production. Never intended as a farm league for Broadway the Workshop existed to cultivate an understanding of and a love for theatre at all levels and as an opportunity many students might not have the chance to experience otherwise.
