Infragard Houston Members Alliance

Infragard Houston Members Alliance (IHMA) is a U.S. nonprofit organization based in Missouri City, Texas. It operates as a public-private partnership, aligning members of the private sector with federal government agencies to enhance the security of critical infrastructure in the Greater Houston Area.

Mission and Activities

The mission of IHMA is to bolster both physical and cyber security measures for critical infrastructure. To achieve this, the organization offers several benefits to its members:

• Chapter Meetings: Regular meetings are held to discuss case studies and trends affecting cyber and physical infrastructure protection at global, domestic, and local levels. These meetings also facilitate networking opportunities among professionals in various sectors.
• Cross-Sector Councils: These councils enable collaboration among members from similar sectors, promoting the exchange of best practices and lessons learned regarding security challenges and threats.
• Security Updates: Members receive timely information and intelligence from sources like the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Department of Homeland Security to ensure they are well-informed about evolving threats.
• Secure Information Exchange Portal: IHMA provides access to a secure portal for the exchange of critical security information, intelligence, and toolkits.
• Professional Growth and Education: Membership includes opportunities for professional development through lectures, webinars, and other educational initiatives focused on cybersecurity and facility security.

Affiliation with InfraGard National

Infragard Houston is part of the broader InfraGard National Members Alliance, which involves over 70 InfraGard Member Alliances across the U.S. Each alliance is affiliated with a local FBI Field Office and works closely with an FBI Private Sector Coordinator to support the InfraGard program. This affiliation allows IHMA to leverage national resources while addressing local security needs.

Membership

As one of the largest InfraGard chapters, with over 3,000 members, IHMA attracts a diverse group of professionals, including business executives, security personnel, government officials, IT professionals, and academics. This diverse membership contributes to enhancing national security by sharing industry-specific insights and expertise.
