Koinonia of Jamestown and Chautauqua County Koinonia of Jamestown Chautauqua County KOINONIAS HISTORY. The Cursillo movement has its roots in Spain. In the late 1940s Bishop Juan Hervas realized the people of the diocese lacked the spirit and enthusiasm of the early church. He gathered together a team of lay persons and clergy to formulate a plan to make Christ a living reality to the people.
