What, like it’s hard or something? Okay, so transforming the food system is actually a pretty big job! But we take it one bite at a time. 🍽️ At SFC, we work with two unique but connected groups: small-scale farmers and Texas shoppers, including shoppers paying with SNAP and WIC. Here’s how our programs close the gap between those groups: 💸Double Up Food Bucks Texas (Double Up Texas): Our statewide program DOUBLES shoppers’ SNAP benefits to spend on local fruits and vegetables at participating farmers’ markets and grocery stores. 👨‍🍳The Happy Kitchen / La Cocina Alegre: In our free cooking and nutrition education course, we equip families with the skills to cook nutritious meals on a budget using local produce. 🧑‍🌾Farmers’ Markets: We support farmer livelihood and access to fresh food at @sfcfarmersmarket in Austin.
