‼️HAAAALLPP!‼️ It's Sunday evening and we wish that we could say that we were all caught up on rescue items and relaxing this evening, but that would be far from the case! Our transport team set out on a 2-van rescue mission over the weekend to secure what we anticipated to be around 80 dogs that were in need of rescue. As often happens in rescue, nothing goes according to plan, and we were challenged with discovering that the number was closer to 120 total dogs needing rescue placement. Cue panic and stomach pains by our coordinators... as that number difference is nearly impossible to accommodate. Thanks to some pretty passionate volunteers and a truly wonderful rescue partner, a third van was able to be deployed today to pick up the remaining dogs that did not fit in our loads this morning. As one problem is resolved... it generally creates five more problems for us to deal with. This life saving rescue mission has quickly depleted what remaining funds we had. We had to PIVOT and make quick decisions knowing that it would be the difference between life and death for many... so we took a leap of faith and did what we needed to make that happen. Here's where we pray that YOU come in... the FAITH that those that believe in our mission will lift us up on this one and help us raise the unexpected cost of this life saving mission. Our financial need for this mission based on 80 dogs was $3,000 of which we only were able to raise $1,200 and with the additional dogs the number that we need to raise is closer to $5,000. We are crossing our paws and praying that we can raise the remaining $3,800 needed to fully fund this life saving mission so that we aren't forced to make some really tough decisions about our operations this week. We are sick to our stomachs, but are continuing to fight to find a way to make it all happen.
