Home - Metropolitan Entertainment & Convention Authority Who We Are The Metropolitan Entertainment Convention Authority MECA is a nonprofit organization overseeing public event venues in Omaha Nebraska. Established on August 25 2000 through a longterm agreement with the City of Omaha MECA played a key role in the construction of the 291 million CHI Health Center Omaha. The project was funded through a publicprivate partnership with the private sector contributing 75 million and the public sector 216 million. CHI Health Center Omaha opened in 2003.
