Last month, Youth Grantmakers in Action (YGA) came together to celebrate a powerful year of youth-led philanthropy! This year’s cohort awarded eight grants totaling nearly $7,500 to support creative, youth-led projects across Forsyth County. YGA is a Strategic Initiative of The Foundation that gives young people (ages 15–18) a real seat at the table - building leadership skills, amplifying youth voices, and investing directly in their communities. Elaine Summerfield and LaTida Smith traveled to Atlanta last week to represent WSF at the CFLeads Economic Mobility Action Network, alongside an incredible group of local leaders: Vivian Pérez Chandler (Asset Building Coalition + WSF board member) Adam Hill & Tyler Sparks (Forsyth Futures) Kellie Easton (Action4Equity) Together, they spent two days connecting with peers from across the country, strengthening strategies to advance economic mobility, and deepening their understanding of what it takes to drive systems change.
