K9 Angels Home Donate Ways to Help About Us More K9 Angels was founded in 2019 by Patrick and Maria Nolan owners of Bayside Kennels in Virginia Beach and The Ruff House Stay Play in Chesapeake. Through conversations with other dog daycarekennel owners as well as shelter directors and hospital social services staff it became quite clear that an organization needed to exist to help bridge the financial gap for pet ownerspatients who were facing a horrible decision choose between their health or their pet. We heard story after story of pets being surrendered because the owner required inpatient medical treatment and had no one to care for the pet or stories of hospital staff calling animal control or the local shelter because they found a patients car with a pet locked inside. K9 Angels is here to help prevent stories like this from occurring in our community.
