A week-long, hands-on program to learn about the duties, privileges, rights and responsibilities of American citizenship.
"One week to shape a lifetime." Everything we do, we believe has a positive impact on the youth of today and developing patriotic leaders for tomorrow. This is done by giving them knowledge and an appreciation of our American form of government, reasons to love the United States and an appreciation for those who are serving and those who have served our country in both military and public service.

A Week that Shapes a Lifetime 2025 Schedule Registration Jan 1 2025 May 1st 2025 Deadline to have applications received is May 1st 2025 Location Northeastern Junior College Sterling CO Dates June 1st 7th 2025 American Legion Colorado Boys State is a sixday handson experience in the operation of the democratic form of government the organization of political parties and the relationship of one to the other in shaping Colorado government. The American Legion Colorado Boys State program is sponsored by the Colorado American Legion. The program cost is paid for by The American Legion. At Boys State young men learn about city county and state government through a nonpartisan objective education approach.
