The Shelter Connection is a nonprofit 501(c)3 comprised entirely of volunteers whose mission is to improve the quality of life for the dogs residing at the Town of North Hempstead Animal Shelter in Port Washington, NY. TO SUPPLY PROFESSIONALLY TRAINED VOLUNTEERS AS ADOPTION ADVISORS AND DOG HANDLERS. TO BETTER THE QUALITY OF DOG'S LIVES BY INCREASING ADOPTIONS THROUGH TRAINING AND SOCIALIZATION OF THE DOGS AND PUBLIC EDUCATION.
