River City Chorale
The Chorale's mission is to inspire and enrich our community through high-quality and diverse choral performances.
River City Chorale
The River City Chorale (RCC) is a nonprofit community choir and musical organization based in Hudson, Wisconsin. It was founded in 2009 by a group of singing enthusiasts aiming to enrich the local cultural scene through diverse choral music performances.
Organization Structure
The River City Chorale consists of a large non-auditioned chorale with approximately 170 members. In addition to the main chorale, there is an ensemble choir and a children's choir, further expanding the organization's musical scope. All choirs are directed by Andrew Last, ensuring a unified artistic vision across the groups.
Musical Program
The River City Chorale's repertoire spans a wide range of musical styles, from classical masterpieces to contemporary works. Their concert seasons typically feature themed performances that engage audiences with various musical genres. Past performances have included holiday concerts, Broadway themes, and musicals that evoke both old and new world sounds.
Community Engagement
As a community-based nonprofit, the RCC relies on local support to sustain its performances and educational activities. The organization encourages donations to help maintain the quality and diversity of their programs. They also offer collaborations with special guest musicians, enhancing their musical experiences for both performers and audience members.
Concert Seasons
Each concert season offers a series of events that attract both local and regional audiences. The RCC often starts its season with a holiday concert, followed by a pops concert, and concludes with a spring concert featuring a mix of classical and modern musical themes.
Financial Structure
The nonprofit operates on a budget supported by ticket sales, donations, and grants. They offer single concert tickets, three-concert packages, and season tickets with discounts for purchasing the entire season, which helps to sustain their musical activities throughout the year.
