Big Brothers of Rhode Island, Inc.
For many of the boys we serve, a Big Brother is the first man in their lives that they can rely on. On December 15, 1952, Chief Justice of the Family Court the late Francis J. McCabe founded Big Brothers of Rhode Island. Judge McCabe believed that many of the troubled boys who were showing up in his courtroom could be saved from great misfortune if responsible male adults would take an interest in them. He established the Big Brothers founding mission to prevent juvenile delinquency through one-on-one mentoring.
