Ultimate Impact Inc

Ultimate Impact Inc is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of youth in underrepresented communities. Founded in June 2016, the organization utilizes the team sport of ultimate Frisbee as a framework to provide youth with increased opportunities, confidence, communication abilities, and conflict-resolution skills.

Mission

The mission of Ultimate Impact is to empower youth from underrepresented communities to develop confidence, teamwork, and accountability through the sport and community of ultimate. This is achieved by fostering a positive environment where youth can have fun, be active, improve athletic skills, and build community through the concept of teamwork.

Programs

Ultimate Impact partners with local organizations to serve underrepresented youth, focusing on boys and girls aged 6 to 18 years old. The organization offers weekly instruction with trained coaches and volunteers, emphasizing social-emotional development, fun, fitness, health development, and ultimate Frisbee instruction and competition. Youth participate in weekly training sessions, peer interaction, and consistent adult mentorship, which are enhanced by attending scrimmages, tournaments, and other ultimate-related activities.

History

The idea for Ultimate Impact began in 2010 when founder Rocky Beach, after retiring from a top club team, sought to give back to the sport. Initially, a youth ultimate team was formed at Gilman Playground in Bayview-Hunters Point, San Francisco, in collaboration with local community programs. This early work led to the formal establishment of Ultimate Impact in 2016, expanding the reach and impact of the program.
