History

Building for Good, Inc. was launched by a group of attorneys from the American Bar Association (ABA) Forum on Construction Law. These professionals recognized the potential for pro bono work within their field and sought to bridge the gap between volunteer lawyers and nonprofits needing construction law assistance.

Services

The organization provides a platform for nonprofits to find qualified, local attorneys who can offer a range of pro bono legal services related to construction law. These services include:

• Transactional Work: Drafting and negotiating construction and design agreements, reviewing contracts.
• Dispute Resolution: Assistance with construction litigation, mediation, or arbitration involving design or construction defects.

Vision and Mission

Eligible organizations include a wide range of charities and nonprofits, such as foodbanks, homeless shelters, organizations supporting individuals with disabilities, schools for underserved populations, conservation and art organizations, and animal protection groups.
