Founded in 2002 one of Afghanistan39s first coed schools became a beacon of hope in a poverty stricken Kabul neighborhood championing democracy human rights and empowering girls to stand against extremism of all kinds. In August 2021 as the Taliban seized Afghanistan hundreds of these schoolgirls went into hiding fearing retribution and forced marriage. To help a small team of eight friends formed the 30 Birds.
