Living Artists Collective

The Living Artists Collective believes the “struggling artist” trope should be a thing of the past. We are a nonprofit solving the problem of visual artists being priced out of cities they help make desirable. Emerging artists are especially at risk of being pushed out, as they do not yet have the connections necessary to survive as an artist in a city with high costs of living. Our organization empowers low-income emerging visual artists to spend more time creating and less time struggling to make ends meet. This is done through events that provide opportunities for them to show and sell their work, business education for artists, education for the public on why it's important to help creatives remain in cities, and grants that can be put towards living and art practice expenses.
