Thalassemia is one of the most common genetic blood disorders in Laos. Every week, LFHC sees over 50 children in the Thalassaemia Clinic requiring regular blood transfusions to survive, but safe blood is always in short supply in Laos. We urge people to help us. If you are living in Laos, please donate blood if you can. Other ways to help: Just $5 can provide 1 unit of blood, enough to help save 3 children’s lives. 💉 Every drop counts. ❤️ Every child matters. #donateblood #ThalassemiainLaos #FWAB #LFHC (fb)

Meet Chanah (name changed), a bright 11-year-old living with Type 1 Diabetes. In rural Laos, managing this condition is especially tough as insulin is expensive, specialists are scarce, and families often have to travel long distances for care. Thanks to LFHC, Chanah receives regular checkups, essential medicine, Diabetes kits, and ongoing support for her family to manage her condition safely at home. No child should face a chronic illness alone. We're with her every step of the way. 💙 #HealthcareForAll #Type1Diabetes #LFHC #ChildrensHealth #FWAB (fb)

In rural Laos 1 of every 25 children dies before their 5th birthday. No parent should ever have to watch their child die because they cannot afford to save their life No parent should ever have to watch their child die because they cannot afford to save their life No parent should ever have to watch their child die because they cannot afford to save their life In 1994 photographer Kenro Izu witnessed a 7yearold girl die because her father could not afford the 2 cost of her medicine. Deeply troubled by what he had seen Kenro founded Friends Without A Border. He wanted a place for children to go for free and compassionate care hospitals where every child should be treated as if it was your own.
