On April 9, 2025, HANO Executive Director was a guest speaker for the New Orleans Metropolitan Association of Realtors (NOMAR) Fair Housing Lunch & Learn. The event focused on the importance of real estate professionals treating their clients with dignity and respect while guiding them through complex Fair Housing situations. "Even in times of uncertainty, strong partnerships, hard work, and treating folks right will always prevail," stated Ms. Willman in her speech to the room of real estate professionals. HANO was honored to share the work we do in the community by providing resources, support, advocacy, and affordable housing to New Orleans residents. (fb)

On April 8, 2025, The Housing Authority of New Orleans (HANO) Homeowners Program hosted a Lender's Lunch and Learn event aimed at eligible housing lenders who are interested in learning more about becoming approved lenders for the program. Prax Melancon from Liberty Bank served as the guest speaker and shared insightful information. HANO’s Homeownership Program was created to assist public housing and Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP) Section 8 residents to become first-time homebuyers. This program provides referrals and support, including homebuyer education, personalized counseling, and post-purchase services for new homeowners. Since its creation in May 2001, the program has helped over 500 families become first-time homebuyers. (fb)
