Credible Messenger Mentoring Movement
CM3 is working with indigenous natural leaders–credible messengers–to break the cycle of incarceration impacting youth & families of color around the nation. CM3 WAS FOUNDED TO HELP YOUTH AND FAMILIES BREAK THE CYCLE AND LONG-TERM IMPACT OF JUSTICE SYSTEM INVOLVEMENT BY SUPPORTING AND ADVANCING CREDIBLE MESSENGER INITIATIVES IN THE COMMUNITIES ACROSS THE NATION MOST IMPACTED BY THE JUSTICE SYSTEM. CM3 BELIEVES THAT CREDIBLE MESSENGERS - INDIGENOUS NATURAL LEADERS WHO SHARE SIMILAR LIFE EXPERIENCES WITH CURRENT JUSTICE INVOLVED YOUNG PEOPLE - ARE UNIQUELY EQUIPPED AND POSITIONED TO HAVE TRANSFORMATIVE IMPACT ON AN INDIVIDUAL, FAMILY, COMMUNITY AND SYSTEMIC LEVEL. THEREFORE, TO BREAK THE CYCLE OF MASS INCARCERATION AND ADDRESS LONG-TERM IMPACTS ON YOUNG PEOPLE OF COLOR, CM3 WORKS TO BUILD COMMUNITY CAPACITY BY RECRUITING, TRAINING, CREDENTIALING, AND SUPPORTING CREDIBLE MESSENGERS TO LEAD THE MOVEMENT FOR JUSTICE TRANSFORMATION.

CM3 | Credible Messenger Mentoring Movement THE MOVEMENT The Credible Messenger Mentoring Movement CM3 is a notforprofit organization founded to help youth and families break the cycle and longterm impact of justice system involvement by supporting and advancing credible messenger initiatives in the most impacted communities across the nation. STANDING ON THE SHOULDERS OF GIANTS The existence of credible messengers is nothing new. In fact at any point in history where people have been marginalized those most impacted by oppressive institutions have risen to take their rightful place as leaders of movements centered on healing restoration and transformation. Throughout history these credible messengers have built and passed down a legacy of commitment and service.
