We create and supply Black fairy tales and stories that inspire Black kids to believe in worlds beyond their own. Our mission is to build and empower the Black child through positive literary representation and empowering racial storytelling. We provide Black children’s literature to Black kids. We collate Black stories written and told by African-American and diasporic authors that build and empower the self-esteem and confidence of Black kids and teenagers, generally within the age range of 0-15. We inspire our kids in our program to dream outside limiting social expectations and believe in themselves wholly through the stories in our anthology. We create and distribute anthologies of these children's short stories and distribute them freely to Black kids in our community and also other countries like Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon, and South Africa.

Home - Black Phoenix Ink What we are going to achieve Our Mission We create anthologies of Black childrens literature for Black kids in underserved communities. Each volume of our book contains 10 curated Black short stories in which the characters look like them the authors look like them and the illustrations look like them. We believe through positive literary representation Black children can actively take control of their power of selfdefinition versus passively accepting negative racial stereotypes. Ultimately our goal is to create a generation of optimistic and empowered black children whose mindsets are empowered by the books they are introduced to in their younger years.
