Petals and S.T.E.M.

Petals and S.T.E.M. is a U.S. non-profit organization founded in April 2022 by Hannah Butler. It focuses on mentoring young women of color, from the eighth grade level through doctorate-level education, in STEM fields and beyond. The organization aims to provide these women with the necessary representation, mentorship, and support network to overcome educational and career barriers.

Mission and Activities

Petals and S.T.E.M.'s mission emphasizes the importance of diversity in STEM while supporting women of color across all areas of higher education. The organization offers various programs designed to foster academic success and community involvement. These programs include professional mentorship, one-on-one guidance, interactive STEM workshops, and discussions on mental health, among others. In 2024, Petals and S.T.E.M. was recognized as a 2024 STEM Achievement Award Honoree and received the 2024 STEM Business Award. Additionally, it participated in the Clays for Kids fundraiser in the same year.
