Our York County Head Start & Early Head Start mission has a focus on school readiness, including activities promoting social, emotional, physical, and educational growth and skills. And now...our kiddos are about ready and so they did a practice run this week, but are we ready??? The Emery Head Start Preschool classrooms visited Sanford Pride Elementary School and got to experience almost all things kindergarteners do - listened to a story in a classroom, got to ride the school bus, and did not miss the playground! This event is part of our "transition" activities intended to support children's transition to kindergarten (we have other activities for the children transitioning from Early Head Start to Head Start Preschool).
