Friends of Yavapai County ARES RACES, Inc

In any disaster or emergency, communications are essential. Our mission is to provide multiple methods of communication in support of our served public safety, public health, and other disaster relief and volunteer organizations. Fundamental to this mission is our own independent communication infrastructure and a trained and organized group of licensed amateur radio operators. Our activities are directed by the Yavapai County Office of Emergency Management (OEM). All members must pass a number of FEMA courses covering incident organization, management and communications. We are essential to any incident because we uniquely provide the only backup when primary communications are out, fill in where communications don’t exist, and facilitate and augment the flow of communications.
