Managing Director and several faculty researchers from theEnergy Production andInfrastructure Center EPIC in September 2015 todevelop practical technologybased solutions for the energy production industry to address problems and challenges with coal ash and liquids management. Effective January 2018 the CALM Initiative has evolved into a private industry funded consortium that is based at the UNC Charlotte PORTAL Building.
