grassroots, member-driven coalition of schools and institutions committed to making student-centered educational opportunities accessible to all students The Philadelphia Learning Collaborative (PLC) is a grassroots organization that believes that student-centered, deeper learning schools authentically prepare students to live meaningful and purposeful lives after high school. PLC builds programs, systems, and structures that develop adults working in student-centered schools and improve the health of the education ecosystem in Philadelphia so that schools that center students thrive. Examples include teacher-facilitated professional development for classroom teachers and employers who mentor students; and convening groups of up to thirty school-based educators to participate in communities of practice to implement curricula that help teachers develop skills in supporting students' exploration of identity and purpose.
