The Kodiak KINDNESS Project exists to help families nourish their babies’ bodies and souls with compassion, providing free and evidenced-based support regarding all aspects of infant feeding. All families with infants are eligible to receive services, regardless of family definitions or feeding choices, without wait times, scheduling or fees, and without even leaving their homes! KINDNESS reinstates family-empowered wisdom back into the community where it belongs, through proactive check-ins from trained Peer Counselors, a 24-hour professionally staffed live support line, HIPAA-compliant messaging platform, same-day home visits, infant feeding classes, drop-in groups, feeding aids unavailable on our remote Alaskan island, bottle feeding guidance, and infant scale and breast pump loans.
