Neighborhood Alliance of Central Oklahoma is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating safe, attractive and healthy neighborhoods throughout Central OK. Is your neighborhood one in which as you drive down the street neighbors are on their front porches, working in their yard, and waiving to neighbors? Or, when you arrive home from work do you look both ways before opening your door, find it clear, get inside and lock your door? These obviously are not the only two options and many live someplace right in the middle. However, over 70 percent of the neighborhoods we work closely with in OKC are considered low to moderate income in which daily crime, dilapidated housing, concerning school conditions and over grown common spaces are a norm. The difference between your neighborhood being a community, a home and your neighborhood being a place you live is about the social connections and the process involved in making those connections. For 41 years, Neighborhood Alliance’s mission has been “To create safe, attractive and healthy neighborhoods” for all!
