The Desta Kebbede Foundation, Inc. (DKFI) creates awareness about trauma and promotes wellness practices for marginalized women and young people in under served communities worldwide. DKFI implements TAASTTA - trauma awareness and support through the arts in partnership with other nonprofits, civil society organizations (CSOs) as well as faith organizations that have programs for wellness and for women and youth empowerment. TAASTTA promotes awareness among those whose lives have been affected by war, displacement - trafficking, domestic violence, poverty, lack of adequate health care and social isolation in the US and in developing countries. Weekly workshops guide participants to explore perception and perspectives with exercises and provide tools to support the healing process.
