The historic Yaquina Bay Lighthouse is believed to be the oldest building in Newport and is Oregons last remaining wooden lighthouse. Winds and rain have buffeted this lighthouse Oregons tallest since its beacon was first lit in 1873. Tens of thousands of sunsets later its light still shines.

Today we mourn the loss of Jane Goodall, who dedicated her life to inspiring action on behalf of endangered species, particularly chimpanzees. Just as importantly, she encouraged each and every one of us to make this planet a better place in any way we could. We are committed to making one positive contribution, no matter how small, each and every day in her honor.
