Overview

Tempus Renatus School of Classical Horsemanship is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation and promotion of classical riding, endangered breeds, and regenerative agriculture. The organization was founded with the aim of making education in these areas accessible to all, particularly targeting veterans, at-risk youth, and other disadvantaged populations.

History

The inspiration for Tempus Renatus began with the founders' exposure to the Lipizzans and the Spanish Riding School, following the viewing of the Disney movie "Miracle of the White Stallions." Initially established as a small breeding and training farm in 2012, the organization evolved into a nonprofit in 2017 to further its mission of sharing classical dressage and promoting traditional breeds. After facing significant setbacks due to Hurricane Helene in 2024, which damaged their Black Mountain, North Carolina facilities, Tempus Renatus relocated to a new facility in Remsen, New York.
