In honor of Latino Heritage Month, the Los Angeles Civil + Human Rights and Equity Department is hosting a special virtual event highlighting Latino representation in City Hall: “Latino Voices of City Hall: Why Representation Matters” on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 10:00 am. This panel will feature several of our City Commissioners, who will share their personal journeys in civic leadership, the role identity and heritage play in their service, and why representation matters in shaping policy. It promises to be an inspiring and thought-provoking conversation.
