Community Transitional School
Since 1990 CTSchool has served over 3,000 homeless children in Portland. The school sees about 200 children each year with and average daily enrollment of 60-65 children. Our mission is to provide a school for children whose families are homeless and who can benefit from a program designed to assist them in overcoming the barriers that prevent them from attending school. Our goal is to provide a stable learning environment for children while their families are homeless and teach them the academic and social skills they will need to succeed in neighborhood schools once regular housing is secured. Our school provides these children with two nutritious meals each school day, transportation to and from school, warm clothing, mentoring, and an excellent education.
