Foundation for Modern Music is dedicated to presenting, recording, and promoting highest quality music of our time with relevance and impact. Founded in 1986, the Foundation for Modern Music (FMM) is dedicated to helping audiences in Houston and beyond appreciate and understand well-written concert music that has a meaningful message, especially music of our own time that challenges, delights—or both. Thus, FMM's mission is to enhance, stimulate, and educate our community by presenting high-quality contemporary programs, educational outreach, and unique partnerships inclusive and accessible to people of all ages, cultural backgrounds, and socio-economic levels. We encourage and celebrate the vigorous, diverse work of today's composers and performers. FMM is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
