The mission of Upward Sports is "Promoting the Discovery of Jesus through Sports." Upward Sports was launched in 1995 as a church-based youth sports program. Since that time nearly 7 million children have participated in Upward Sports all across the country. In2012, Upward Sports created a Performance Division known as Upward Stars. Thisexpansion provides opportunities for young athletes to further develop theirathletic skills and participate in a higher level of competition. Upward Starsprograms are for young athletes that have the drive and intensity to perform ata high level of competition.Upward Stars intentionally focuses on the 360 Progression - the development ofthe total athlete: mentally, athletically, spiritually, and socially.UpwardStars programs offer a unique format that aid in developing the needs of eachathlete regardless of experience. We recognize that each athlete has individualskills and needs, so we place priority on meeting each athlete where they areand helping them reach their potential. We take time to focus on long-termdevelopment, which means encouraging players to try new things, learn byexperience, and focus on being a well-rounded athlete. Upward Stars programsincrease in intensity with each athlete as they improve, enhancing theirphysical, emotional, social, and spiritual development. Athletes receiveevaluations on their current skill level with clear direction on how toimprove.Webelieve that playing sports should be a life-changing experience that preparesathletes for success on and off the court.
