Brooklyn Community Housing & Services (BCHS) is committed to ending homelessness in Brooklyn. Brooklyn Community Housing & Services, Inc. (BCHS) is committed to ending homelessness in Brooklyn and empowering all the residents of Fort Greene and the surrounding neighborhoods - our home community. We provide safe, clean supportive housing each year for nearly 1,000 women, children and men who had been homeless, and help them learn how to live productively and independently, with dignity, and with hope. BCHS has helped thousands who were in crisis achieve independence over the last 40 years and ready to help thousands more in the future, until the day that homelessness no longer exists, and until the day that our local communities are as socially rich and as economically vital as possible.

We recently joined forces with 100+ supportive housing advocates for The Supportive Housing Network of New York's City Council Lobby Day to urge the Council to take action on: 🏠 Funding for the investment in additional congregate housing units and preservation of existing legacy supportive housing units 🏠 Addition of peers to the city’s B-HEARD mental health crisis response team 🏠 Ensure justice-involved individuals have access to housing by investing in the Justice Involved Supportive Housing (JISH) program 🏠 Supporting the financial health of nonprofits, like us, by requiring city agencies to reimburse organizations for interest due to late contract payments Thank you to Council Member Crystal Hudson, Council Member Sandy Nurse, and Council Member Lynn Schulman and your staffs for speaking with us and being true advocates of supportive housing.
