When FHCAM opened in 2008, we had the honor of welcoming P-51 pilot Harrison “Bud” Tordoff, who flew our very own Upupa Epops in combat. Before transitioning to the Mustang, as many pilots did in 1944, Bud flew the formidable P-47 Thunderbolt. When offered the chance to sit once more in the cockpit of Upupa Epops, Bud surprised us with a different request: he asked to sit in the Thunderbolt instead.
