LITA (Love is the Answer)
The mission of LITA is to improve the quality of life for lonely, isolated residents of Marin County. LITA has seven programs that address loneliness and connect older people with the larger Marin community. One to One matches a volunteer with a resident for weekly, regular visits. Pet Connection adds a pet to the friendship and includes visiting with other residents. Three intergenerational programs, Bridging Generations, Bridging Thru Music, and Family Connections provide youth the opportunity to learn from residents and for residents to connect with the open and enthusiastic energy of the kids. Caring Connections works with home-bound older adults. Seniors in the Park gets older people into our beautiful Marin parks and connects them with caring volunteers.
