Holding Space Birth and Wellness Cooperative

The Holding Space Birth and Wellness Cooperative is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive support and education to women and birthing families throughout various life transitions. Founded by Erin and Miranda, both Navy veterans, the cooperative focuses on events such as puberty, childbirth, and menopause.

Mission and Activities

This organization aims to create a safe and inclusive environment where individuals can feel heard and supported. It offers a variety of services, including:

• Evidence-based education: Providing classes, groups, and events to educate and support women through different life stages.
• Midwifery services: Anacortes Midwifery Care offers high-quality, low-intervention healthcare, including certified nurse-midwife attended births.
• Mental health services: Holistic psychotherapy is provided to address mental well-being, focusing on mind, body, and spirit healing.
• Nutrition guidance: Femina Fortis Nutrition helps women optimize their nutrition practices across life stages.
• Massage services: Specialized massage therapies, including prenatal and postpartum services, are available.

Upcoming Developments

The Holding Space is currently developing the Anacortes Birth Center, which is slated to open by January 1, 2026. This center will serve as a safe community space for births using the midwifery model of care.
