Tulip mania 🌷 “Tulip mania” and the booming flower market were defining aspects of the Dutch economy. Imported from the Middle East and beyond, tulip bulbs were a subject of financial speculation. Still life paintings, as well as mass-produced blue and white ceramics, celebrated this fashion and taste in Dutch society.
