During Women’s History Month, the MVCMA salutes Helen “Hellcat” Lamb. Helen Lamb founded Camp Jabberwocky on Martha’s Vineyard in 1953 in a MVCMA campground cottage owned by her sister. Helen brought a counselor and 3 campers who stayed in the cottage for a week paying her sister rent of $25. From there the camp bloomed and has become an Island treasure - providing an environment for children and adults with disabilities to enjoy all the summer adventures Martha’s Vineyard has to offer, including visiting the MVCMA. ⠀ ⠀ 📸 : Linsey Lee / Source : @mvmuseum (fb)
