1857 Foundation | 1857 Foundation ABOUT THE 1857 FOUNDATION The 1857 Foundation was incorporated on April 6 2016 and received its 501c3 determination letter from the IRS on January 3 2017 attached. The Foundation was organized by a group of concerned local business professionals who collectively saw a need to save this remarkable structure. This group consisting of architects engineers bankers attorneys and real estate professionals brings a tremendous amount of competent expertise to this project that we are confident will ensure the projects ultimate success. The Foundation has recently spent nearly 10000 to remediate damage resulting from a recent fire with plans to begin restoration efforts by May 2017.
