Kappa Kappa Psi is a nonprofit organization operating as an honorary fraternity for college and university band members in the United States. The fraternity's name was suggested by chemistry professor Hilton Ira Jones. Initial growth was rapid, with 27 chapters across the United States by the end of its first decade[2][4]. The fraternity's expansion was hindered by the Great Depression and World War II but continued to grow afterward.

Mission and Activities

Relationship with Tau Beta Sigma

Kappa Kappa Psi maintains a sister organization relationship with Tau Beta Sigma, an honorary band sorority. The two share similar goals and have collaborated in various national events since their official recognition in 1947[2][4].
