(THE FOUNDATION) IS A NONPROFIT CORPORATION ORGANIZED AND OPERATED EXCLUSIVELY THE CHARITABLE PURPOSE OF SUPPORTING HIAS, INC., A NONPROFIT CORPORATION (HIAS), RECOGNIZED AS A PUBLIC CHARITY AND QUALIFYING UNDER SECTION 501(C)(3) OF THE U.S. INTERNAL REVENUE CODE OF 1986, AS AMENDED (CODE). HIAS PROVIDES VITAL SERVICES TO REFUGEES AND ASYLUM SEEKERS AROUND THE WORLD AND ADVOCATES FOR THEIR FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS SO THEY CAN REBUILD THEIR LIVES. THE FOUNDATION IS REQUIRED UNDER ITS GOVERNING DOCUMENTS TO SUPPORT HIAS IN THE PURSUIT OF THIS TAX-EXEMPT MISSION. THE FOUNDATION PLANS TO SOLICIT, RECEIVE, MAINTAIN AND DISTRIBUTE FUNDS TO, AND FOR THE BENEFIT OF, HIAS.
