The Gem & Mineral Society of Louisiana was established by individuals that shared and continue to share a common interest in the earth sciences. Our purpose is to educate and promote the study of geology, mineralogy, gemology, fossils and the lapidary arts. GMSL was created so others that shared those same interests would have a place to gather, communicate, and learn from others.

We meet on the second Monday of each month at the University of New Orleans GeologyPsychology building in room 1000. Meetings begin at 730PM and are open to anyone with an interest in the Lapidary Arts Minerals Crystals and Education in Earth Sciences. There is no admission and you do not have to be a member to participate in the meetings.
